Ah, but the real question is how are the tips supposed to be positioned ? Maybe the side you think is too low is actually in the perfect position making the other side the one that needs correcting because it is too high. And when you loosen the clamp bolt you'll find the tips will move side to side as well as up and down. Move the tips that are in the perfect position too much to one side and you won't have any reference point from which to set the tips on the other side which could be the one that's in the correct position after all.
