Default a 997 C4S wearing a tuxedo (or more like a racing suit?)

I thought I'd introduce my new (to me) 997 C4S. I wanted something I can take my wife and our little daughter with for club happenings etc. So needed a car with rear seats. I really would have wanted a genuine GT3 but they don't have back seats so I had to "settle" to a C4S. But this thing is wearing a '10 RS clothes, so it's a good compromise. For the use I am intending it, 90% street driving with occasional track visits, it's just perfect.

The car is a 2006 C4S with the front wheel drive parts removed and exterior built to RS look with all original Porsche parts.
There are GT3 seats in there and a roll bar (which is coming out) and an aftermarket exhaust. Otherwise the car is bone stock and will stay that way too.
I do have some bits and pieces that came with the car but I'm not sure if I want to install them.THere are the 380+355mm RS brakes, a Dansk full exhaus system, IDP plenum and a GT3 throttle body...maybe the brakes shoud go on the car...?

The car had a full detailing done at a friends shop. I think he spent 30+ hours on it. It looks amazing now.

Wow that conversion must have been mind shattering expensive! Looks great. I guess like you said you needed something for wife and kid. If it were me i would have bought a gt3rs, removed the roll bar and installed rear seats. Would simply ireinstall roll bar for track use remove for family use. But you car would ride so much better in family use.

You need to realise that a genuine gen2 RS is a 200keur car here in Finland. This car is abt. 80keur. (the taxation is craaaaazyyyyy here).
A new 991 GT3 base price is 145k tax free + 120keur of taxes...

The conversion on my 997 was done by the previous owner so I really didn't pay for it. I assume it was well north of 25keur but on the other hand the car was still half of the price of the genuine RS.
The 3.8 S engine is enough for me for street use, if I want to blow my socks off, I'll go and do some racing with my GT2 EVO on the track....

Right on... It is crazy - people in the US would not pay US $230,000 for a base 911 S (991) with zero options as the current list price with applicable taxes is Finland. Not that that many people pay it there either. However, the Porsche community there seems to be very strong with loads of activity and true love for the cars.

Today I took my little girl out for a drive. She really enjoyed the "Porlsssse", as you can see from the smile on her face.

We drove to grandmas house and I got a chance to sneak out to the local track for a quick visit.
I did a couple of laps and was quite impressed with the car. Granted the suspension was wayyyyy too soft for my taste and the street tires are...well, street tires.
But the strong 3.8 and the brakes were awesome. The biggest downturn for me was the lack of locking differential. I am used to rotating the car with brake/gas, so with an open diff, this is quite difficult. Or at least much different.

I think I will order a set of Michelin CUP2's and perhaps I'll take a look at different options for the suspension. This is still a street car so nothing hardcore but a good compromise perhaps...?

The diff is definitely on the list for next winter werks.

Here's a soundclip:

And I'm uploading some incar footage here:

I love the 'otherwise it is bone stock...' comment. There are so many changes from a base C4S that I am not sure this in any way resembles the stock C4S underneath.

Must say though, I love the car.
