The installation seems a success. Traffic stop and go oil temp steady at 90 and water temperature steady at 80. Easily a 5 to 10 deg improvement. What i noticed most is that the needle for oil temp seemed to be steady at that level wheareas before it would fluctuate slightly when stopped and moving.

That was my experience too, seems to flatten out the temp. It will still get to 225°F with one hard run, but overall seems a little lower and more stable.

I'd ignore the water temp gauge as it is a glorified idiot light and does not accurately reflect the coolant temp.

GoPoint BT1's about $120 and will provide accurate H2O temps as well as other info. There is a module that plugs into the OBDII port and then it connects via blue tooth to a smartphone or tablet. http://gopointtech.com/products/
Nice to read CEL codes on the fly too.

I just ordered the 997.1 kit and the air intake for my 997.2 from SunsetPorscheParts.com. $139.80 for the air intake, (997-575-141-070) and the radiator kit, (99704410005) @ $173.22. Genuine Porsche Coolant @ $32.03. BTW, they have the Mobilube PTX @ $28.23. (SunCoast charges $39.00 per liter.)

I installed the kit on my 2008 997.1 and found it pretty easy to do. With the excellent DYI provided by Slicky Rick, I am eager to get to work on the installation! It will also give me a chance to clean the radiators.

mine is actually 997.1 but i did the 997.2 conversion a year ago.... after which i always would wonder what to do re 3rd rad kit if it ever came up.

thanks to you i know its just the exact same radiator with different fitment side ducting into the larger 997.2 radiator shrouds. and just a little rubber-macgyvering will solve the issue ... i will order a kit shortly.

thank you again!
