Default SSK and oil filter question

Questions to the collective.
1. What is the correct part number for the oil filter for a 997.2 engine
(996 107 225 53??)
Did the oil change on my car and I have the above P filter, but the filter in my car is a Mahle,so I could not confirm the part number....second guessing myself!
Got the P filter from dealer 300 km away but, want to confirm it is the correct one(and yes I am not sure I trust the Porsche parts guy...he is new and seemed very unsure of himself!)
And yes, I have SEARCHED(google,Rennlist,6 Speed,Pelican etc.) for it.

2.How bad is a short shift kit for the gearbox synchros?

Thanks

The 997.1 oil filter is smaller in diameter than 997.2 filter.
Ask for both and you'll see the difference right away.
I don't have part number handy, check Pelican Parts to confirm.

Short shifter isn't bad at all. It's the shifting style that kills transmissions. People tend to mash the gears not allowing for rotating machinery to equalize rpm's.
1 and 2 suffer the most in the process.
The 997 transmission is built by Japanese Aisin and is not as robust as your past 993 box.
Cheers,
Luke

You got the wrong part. That is for an early 997 or a 996.

You want : P/N 948-107-222-00 2009-2011 997

Thanks..been on the forums couple years with my previous twinner as well..new to the 997 group and sounds like there`s lots of good people here.
I am in Medicine Hat.
Getting parts is a bit of a bother being 3 hours away from your town!

Yup,that's the one...
Wanted a C4 GTS,NO centre locks,6 speed and this makes this a fairly unique one,as 95% of them were centre locks and PDK equipped.
What is in your garage?

Beautiful! Congrats.
My garage? 2005 C2S with 3.8L.
Love it to bits.
6 speed, sport seats, full leather and PASM.
Everything I wanted and nothing that I didn't want.
We're getting together on Saturdays at Distinctive Collection in c-town come first nice weekend. Come over, say hello. Not many Porsches, mostly 'rraris and lambos.
They have really good coffee (coming from someone who doesn't drink coffee) and lots of exotics on a good day.
Cheers,
Luke

That is a nice cleanly optioned car.
Will try to make it out one of the nicer Saturdays especially when all the gravel has disappeared!
