Probably the first and last time I ever use it, but how exactly is it supposed to work? I was excited to use the launch control I didn't bother to position the car properly, nor did I care that there was a turn right in front of me, but man was I disappointed...
PSM button OFF
Launch control functions by enabling traction control to limit slippage
I figured I could just go WOT from launch and PSM would be handling slip, but it felt more like I was just spinning the wheels the whole time. Tires were certainly cooked, I felt it immediately on the next corner and spun a few corners after. It also didn't feel right that it was bouncing off the limiter even after launch
The guy by the start line said he didn't see me slip, that traction control seemed to be working. He also said he smelled clutch after. I'm not quite sure what to think.
My understanding was that you need to hold on the accelerator for a bit longer with the brake on till the launch control light comes on. Need to get the revs up to 5,500+and hold it there for a bit longer.
the procedures are in the driver's manual, randomly pushing some buttons won't do it
Doing a launch control start right before a turn is probably not a good idea
So this is the second video of auto crossing that you've posted lately. Dude, you are not smooth. It seems like going wot and sliding all over the place is the way to do it but it's not.
Smooth and steady wins the race. Learn the line and increase speed along that line instead of spending your time bouncing around the coarse. Controlled slides are one thing....
You're just spasing out.
OP,you need to realize you're exposing yourself when posting something like that. Personally,I wouldn't post any driving videos on the street or track, unless I'd be a pro. You have to also realize most here think they're Senna(AKA bench racers) ...but that's another story...
Launch it on an open stretch of road...straight line, not at Autocross where you know there's a turn coming.
Also, you were reving the crap out of it in first,no wonder you hit the limiter.
