Default TQ spec for front caliper to "A" arm bolts, front??

Doing a pad replacement on the Charimans 997.2.

If you know that torque spec for the 2 X front caliper to suspenson arm fixing bolts, I'd be grateful if you post them up.

I think they are M12 X 1.5 X ~ 100mm.

60 - 65 ft/lb????

Thanks

Craig

the bolts holding the caliper to the wheel carrier are spec'd at 63ftlb. but i and a few others (incl shops) i know, back that down a couple lbs to ~60 due to the possible "known issue" of stripped threads.

Thanks for the tip.
and now here's one from me.

If you choose to replace the wear sensor wire assemblies, take note that they are NOT the same lenght.
sigh
ask me how I know..................

oh well, only took 3 minutes to swap side-to-side.

Craig

even a better tip: tie them back out of the way and simply monitor pad wear regularly by sight. that's what I do (and most of us trackies). ;-)

understood, did that on my 993, but 997 is my sweeties car.
she likes having factory "safety" equipment connected.

But you don't need to remove the caliper to change pads. They slide out the back once the retaining pin is removed.

Not on a 997.2. And yes, 63ft/lb is the torque spec, but for new bolts. They are torque to yield, "supposed" to be replaced everytime they are removed, hence backing off slightly torque wise due to them being pre stretched from prior torque sequence. Reusing is ok as long as you don't go crazy, but since you are asking, should be fine.

take into acct that if you use any thread lock, or any sort of thread lube you get more turn for the pressure. I would stay back a couple of pounds

TQ'd to 58 ft / lbs.
tight enough that all 4 bolts stretched a bit.
not too tight so as to strip Al threads.

cheers
