I think the comfort package includes:
Heated front seats
Automatic dimming mirrors
Power seats
Also the Park Assist is for the rear only. You should see the sensors in the back bumper.

I pay about $80 for enough motul for an oil change and a little extra to carry around to supplement.
I just can't see how gm could offer a $30 oil change that cheaply. Oil, rent, equipment, labor.
They must be taking a loss, writing it off and passing it on to the tax payer.... Ho!
Sorry, couldn't resist.

~$75 per oil change when I DIY using MB-1(available at Walmart)... takes 45mins to do it right. Easier than my wife's Lexus GX-470 or my son's Tundra.

If I use their mobile 1, they charge me $180.

JUst had my 48 mo service done at my dealer, it was 976.00, less than a 1K anyway.

The savings over my local p-dealer pricing motivates me to change the oil more often... typically every 3K miles. I only put about 6K miles/yr on the car since I'm out of town every other week for work. Cost per year is less than $200 for two changes even though I'm using Motul X-cess now... $69 for 10 liters of oil plus another ~$11 for a filter. The feel good factor of doing it myself is priceless... an opportunity to look the car over - a little TLC time. Here's a DIY link for the 997.1... https://rennlist.com/forums/997-foru...nch-break.html

I purchased my first Porsche about two weeks ago. The car is a 2011 4S coupe with PDK, full leather, Sports Chrono Plus, etc. Mileage was 6,200 miles when I purchased the car. The car has 25 months left on the warranty. My previous car was a 2011 Corvette Convertible that I drove trouble free for 34,000 miles.
The Porsche is easier to get into and out. The sports seats are very comfortable and supportive. The leather interior is very nice. I like the PDK but am still getting use to it. Have not messed with the Sports Chrono Plus as of yet. The navagation system is very easy to use and seems to be high quality. The car hugs the road very well with no noticeable body lean. Acceleration is all that I need.
On the negative side is the a lack of keyless entry and keyless push button start. No automatic headlights on. My last three cars had this feature and I really miss it. No XM radio on a car that had a MSRP of $118,000. The ride is a little harsh. The gage faces are painted light tan to match the interior. During the day light, the gages are somewhat dark and hard to read. The cup holders are over engineered. Service cost is out of this world. The dealer quoted me $480 for an oil change. (I plan on doing my own oil changes.) The 4 year service will cost me $2,300.
Overall, I am pleased with the car but will probable go back to a new Corvette in two or three years. Can't justify the cost of a new Porsche.

As others have said, oil changes are easy and for many fun. There are a number of threads on maintenance and many are DIY and not too costly. Overall, the costs seem fine to me but I will DIY. Dealers really charge. I got quoted $25 for a oil drain plug and had to laugh and say bye bye. Its $2 online.
Some of the missing options are annoying but you should forget these over time. I think of the 997 as a bit of old school. The feel of the car far outweigh these options and its built solid.
I'm almost ready to post my one year review of the 997. It will be mostly all positive. But I'd agree with you on the lighting for gauges. Too dim and it bugs me too.
I like the later series Vettes but I could never get by the poor visibility and interior. Have to say the new Vette is pretty darn interesting. Of course I really like the 997 for looks, feel and the cockpit visibility.
It would be interesting to post more of your impressions on the 997, particularly versus the Vette. Again, Congrats.
