A twist on the Gundo mod

I'm not an engineer (nor do I play one on TV), but I do not understand this mod. The cutout and x-ray pictures seem to show that the changes are all on the intake side. Thus, how does this mod lead to a louder sound? Probably would change it, to be sure, but might also cause a subtle change in back pressure characteristics.
Just curious (I am using the Gundo with a 1 1/2" pipe). Can any engineering minds explain?

The mod changes the flow through baffles inside the can and provides a change in resonance and tone from the factory design, it is deeper and in my opinion much more "motorsport" without being too loud or harsh/raspy.
The gundo is a straight flow through mod (no can/muffler resonance on the side cans) so on the 997.2 with a center muffler delete the gundo provides a straight flow path from the cats to the tail pipe. The can provides resonance and tone that is very pleasing (personal opinion only).
I would love to put them side by side and hear the difference...

Has anyone else had this modification done? I'm seeing one in person in a week or two but wanted to see if anyone has had experience with it...I'm impatient haha

Well, for a long term update- I LOVE this mod. On the track or street get a lot of positive comments.
I talked with Hank who did the work and he has done a lot more of them, in fact is getting set up to have a set ready to send when he gets the order and will swap out the new for old.
This system has more tone than the "gundo", more refined, I have heard both and prefer the Hanksville.... But then again I may be biased.

I'm picking up a S muffler but the prob is I have a Non S car..I want to keep my tips, and do a core exchange, only prob is Hank doesn't have any non-s mufflers, and I don't want to start getting a tip adapter or change them. I've watched tons of gundo and fister style gundo YouTube videos, and although your vid is just a garage shot for 15 seconds, it sounds 10x better! But you do have the mid center delete, so I'm curious what it would sound with stock setup. You don't happen to have a drive by or other vids do you to hold me over until i see them. Maybe I'll just send them into him and wait for a non-S set to come in?
