Standard mode is really designed for fuel economy.
In auto, yes since it holds the gears to redline. In manual, I use sport plus all the time. Much quicker shifts than in sport. Normal mode to me is pretty much useless. 6th gear at 30mph? In a 911....no thanks.

I drive in sport mode 90 percent of the times.

It would be great if there were a way to program the PCM to default to sport and PSE on at startup, rather than needing to turn it on each time.

When in auto shifting mode I drive in sport mode. Normal mode lugs too much. Weird....why are people afraid to try the different settings?....just push the dang buttons and play around with it

When shifting manually, do you upshift and downshift-to-pass only? I get lazy and let it do the downshifting at lights/stop signs etc.

Put it in "sport" mode and drive it - not "sport plus". You will immediately see the difference.

I don't downshift rolling into a stop. I see no reason to. The PDK does a nice job of downshifting as I approach a stop. Now when the time comes to manage the gears with a purpose, I'm all up and down the gearbox.

Also, I tend to leave it in auto until the oil is nice and warm. Then the fun begins.
