ac011 (Choi) is trying to sell track tires on the classified forum that were on these wheels. I posted that the tires could be damaged like the wheels he sold you.

Update: I picked up the car yesterday. $420 to eval and straighten the three wheels, total cost was $800 for the wheels, $175 shipping, $420 for refurb and $200 for dismount/mount/Road Force balance. Damn. One thing we noticed that we had not noticed before in the darker shop lighting is that all of the wheels that Choi sold me were painted, and badly. So I assume he knew that as well. Not a happy ending.

I forgot to mention that I am in dispute process with Pay Pal. I'll do the credit card route as well. Since I'm now mounted on the 3 "fixed" wheels, I'm asking for $620, which is $420 for the straightening process and $200 for the scrapped wheel (the set was $800). Fair, right?!

Should have left the wheels as there were and sent them back for a full refund. PayPal could have made that happen but it would require you to return the wheels. Now seller has no way to recoup any of is costs and PapPal as no way of proving your claim that wheels were damaged. No one authorized you to get them repaired at their expense. You made a bad situation worse. IMHO now that you've fixed them, you own them.

I think it goes further than just a few hundred bucks lost, time wasted etc. Principals, or lack of. Getting taken or deceived. Its like being robbed of $ 20.00... it aint the money, deception lack of good character etc, etc etc. Trust in humanity for goodness sake....

Here is my side of story.
- I bought these wheels local from craigslist. The guy claim only 600-700 on them. I paid $1200
- I used them for few years on track with about 5k miles. I installed a new set of tires by Carlsen Porsche dealer and another set of rear tires 8 months ago by a local tires shop. Both the Porsche dealer and my local tire shop was able to balance the tires and NEVER mention the wheels were bent! I have receipts for all the jobs.
- I was very surprise when PAT McCULLA told me all 4 wheels are bent! I ask 2 professional wheels repair shop and they all told me they have NEVER see all 4 wheels bents without any visible damage from the outside. PAT McCULLA also told me he was installing used tires on them and maybe that cause more weight needed to balance them? So, I ask him get an estimate from a repair shop and I promised I will refund the money if in fact they are really bent. He refuse to do that and telling me he is to busy and 100% trust his own shop....
- A week later he email me saying that he had already repaired the wheels for $420? I was asking him to get an estimate and not to repair them?? He also file a paypal dispute at the same time. I refuse to refund the money because they are not the original wheels anymore. How can I test them if they had already been repaired by other shop? Anyway, I won the PayPal dispute because I submitted all my proofs and receipts to PayPal vs PAT McCULLA NEVER submit any proof of damage and should not repair the wheels without authorized .

Maybe I should start a new post title "Beware: PAT McCULLA (McCulla)"?

Okay, everyone know a wheel repair shop can refinish a wheel for $120-150. You would have spend $600 to reconditions your original lobsters like new. Why do you want to pay $970 included shipping for another set of lobsters? Unless they are already bent?

Ah, the plot thickens.
I think I remember asking why the OP went ahead and fixed them when all AC asked for was a second opinion on them before he took them back.
OP stated that AC stopped communicating with him...got some he-said/she-said happening here.

Getting juicy, there are always two side of the story. But that does sounds fishy when you get the same exact wheels, refinishing them would had been much cheaper.
