Coming out of the gym this morning--still dark outside--and I casually wonder what kind of car is parked next to me. 4-door sedan, nice interior was guessing it was one of the new Kia or Hyundai "luxury" cars. Actually determined it was a Maserati after looking at the wheel cover emblem. I bet no one ever has to guess what kind of car it is when a 911 is parked next to you...

Good point. A business associate is looking at an AM Rapide, but I told him he might as well save some coin and get a Ford Fusion since no one can tell them apart from the front anyway. The comment wasn't appreciated. This will never happen with a 911, but in saying that I'm sure some resourceful Chinese company will take a run at it.

I have friends that don't know the difference between a 911, Boxster, Cayman or even the BRZ for that matter. Some people just don't focus on cars and it's not their fault, they have different priorities. I can identify most Motorcycles on the road cause they are my first love but most people will ask if that's a 'Ninja'

911's are definitely unique looking cars. There is no other car out there that remotely looks like a 911!

agree that 911 is unique but a VW beetle is not too far off.

Funny you say that...last Sunday morning at our GTG we were visited by some Porsche "cousins". Posted pics on the Canada forum, Porsche 905 Group, Aug. 25 thread. The DNA is there.

Don't forget to add the Jaguar XF to the list of Aston/Ford look-alikes.

+1, some people asked me if mine is the new VW so no, it's not immune to it. Some people don't care about cars.

I know general aviation pilots who don't know a Curtiss Warhawk from a Supermarine Spitfire, much less a Su-27 from a F-15. This amazes me.

A Beetle does resemble a horizontally squashed 911.

The main reason for getting a 911 is the unique styling and the fact that in my town, I don't see them often. Make me smile.
