Side decals were an option - not sure if they were factory or dealer installed. You can order them here:

For those of you who weren't around in 1974, the Carrera decals in those days were simply "Carrera" and there was no such thing as a Carrera S. It was stretched out along the entire side of the car and much larger. It fit that era of Porsches very well. Many today believe in understating their rides. The decal screams out "look at me!" For certain cars it will be a distraction. Also, in those days not every car off the production line was a "Carrera." The term Carrera meant something in those days and today, it's simply a marketing tool by Porsche to suggest something that it's not.

Been contemplating on doing the decal thing but still unable to pull the trigger. If I were to do it, I'd go this place. I've done the headlight trim and I can tell you fist hand their vinyls are off high quality.

Loud graphics have their place. Personally (you're asking for opinions, right?) I think loud graphics are ok on an upper-model: GTS, Turbo, etc. I don't think they belong on a base Carrera or even an S model.

I also agree that the Carrera graphic looks good on some colors and terrible on others. I think it's ok on the bright hues that you would have seen in the seventies (what Ford fans would call the "grabber" colors) like bright blue, yellow, red and the odd birds like copper.

Just my two cents.

This is one of those things that you'll either love or hate.

Note that the shark fins are overlaid over the decals.
LOVE IT!!!

The decal totally depends on the car, its color, wheels, etc. Looks GREAT on your car! Love that shade of blue, sets off the decal very well (or, I should say, the decal sets off the car very well).

Wow, that looks fantastic! There's something about the decals with black wheels that really works. You've made some tasteful enhancements to your car. Great color too.

Looks great, though I didn't think it would. Where'd you get the ducktail?

I'm very curious what that looks like since I'm red/black too. Can you post a pic?
