... and some of them (Japanese, mostly) look rather cartoonish with them. I really don't see much of a difference between a .1 and .2. The classic 911 lines are apparent in either version. The differences are too minor. I have a .2, but if I had a .1 I would not want to change.

I feared I was the only one! I definitely prefer no leds, the square taillights and the front intake style.
That said, I would be perfectly happy if I had a .2 instead of a .1...

Well I have to say I prefer the aerokit.1 bumper to the aerokit.2 bumper for cars with the factory aerokit. In fact .2 aerokits are so rare you hardly see them around.

Nope, never liked the lower .1 front LED lights. I was so glad when they modified them to be more even with the .2 version. The interior dash and buttons are much more refined too.

The 997.1 didn't come with any LED lights. How can you dislike something it never had? Unless you're referring to aftermarket LEDs?

.1 owners would say .1, .2 owners would say .2!

To me, there are merits to both:
- LEDs in general just update the look, I think specially they work well on the tails. Fronts while cool, take away from classic look.
- .2 front-end bumper to me looks nicer specially vs. the non-aerokit .1 version. It just looks more sporty to me, specially if you got the GTS front-end.
- Wheels on .2 are improvement over .1, outside of Carrera Sport that looks great on both

So, overall, a Dectane LED light on the .1 gets you 80% there, specially if you dislike front LEDs that are on EVERY FREAKING CAR from KIA to Merc!

the best look i feel is if you take a c2s add a 997.1 gt3 bumper and 997.2 gt3 3.8 wing!

997.1 for me, more classic look in my opinion, of course I'm biased and not really into LED's and I also think the 997.1 sounds better

As mentioned, the LEDs look just like what all the other manufacturers are doing right now. I'm not a fan of them one way or the other. Twenty years from now people will say "remember when everyone had LEDs and black wheels?".

I meant the front strip lights below the normal lights. They just look out of place to me.

I have meteor gray so the Led lights serve a great purpose on cloudy days -visible to other drivers! I do like the clean tail light look on the .1 997 and personally don't care for the lighted strip on the c4 .2 cars in the back. The interior center console is an improvement IMHO. Lastly, I really like the talker side mirrors of the .2 but both are great cars and fun as hell to drive so good bye, I'm going for a drive

It's funny...I wanted a Porsche so badly and was never able to have one until recently. But I remember when the 997.2 was introduced, I wasn't so sure I liked the LEDs. Then I really started to like them. Wasn't the case though with the 991...I loved the lights from the start.

That being said, every 911 is a beautiful machine end I enjoy looking at them all.
