997.2 C2 Recommended Mods?
Hey everyone, new here. Just got my first Porsche, an '09 997 Carrera with PDK and Sport Chrono. Heres a couple pics.
Anyway back to the point, I've never changed anything on my other cars before and I've kept them all stock so I am completely new at this. I have plans for the Porsche but as I've never done this before I would highly appreciate any feedback I can get.
In terms of aesthetics, my priorities are a ducktail and new rims. So far I've looked at the Getty Ducktail Sport and the Misha Ducktail. I tried looking at MA Shaw but I can't seem to find it on their website for the 997. Anyway, I'm leaning towards the Getty and I've already sent them an email regarding shipping to Taiwan. From the pictures on Getty's website, it seems like the finish on it isn't as good as the Misha. Are there any problems with the Getty? I was also wondering if it would be a good idea to go up to 19" with the wheels? Any recommendations on brands would be really helpful.
Also regarding performance mods, is there anything in particular I should do first? It's my daily driver so I'm not really looking to do anything too crazy, just enough so there is a noticeable difference in both sound and performance. I would want to change the exhaust system but I was quoted $5300 sans labour for the PSE at my OPC. What aftermarket exhausts would you guys recommend? Also, is the ECU worth upgrading?
Thank you!

Hey, for the PDK cars (and manual ones as well), I'd suggest the first mod to be the (Porsche) Sport Chrono Pkg. It adds two addt'l modes - SPORT and SPORT PLUS. Both modes alter the engine parameters (incl throttle mapping), traction control/stability control parameters, and PDK shift points for more sportier performance.
Just another item to consider. Highly recommended.

Regarding exhaust upgrades, you may want to check out iPE Innotech. They appear to be based out of Taiwan.

Here's a mod thread that may provide a few ideas to consider as well based on what others on the forum have done. FWIW, I have really enjoyed my FVD exhaust system and their products in general.
