I had mine done @ German Excellence in Winter Park (orlando area). They were doing a 996 at the same time. Great service and all is well.

I had my IMS swapped out for a LN Engineering ceramic bearing when I purchased my car at 59k miles. I've put about 12k miles on it since and have had no issues.

This is from the LN Engineering website and in short Porsche used pressure fed oil to lubricate the IMS bearings from 1965 to 1998.

It does look like a good way to go and price is reasonable. Problem for me is they need the car in the shop for 4 days.

Also I would rather not be one of the first to get this done. The ceramic bearing has been tested by thousands.

I'll give German Excellence a call. To the guys who had it done already - about how long does the car need to sit in the shop to get the bearing upgrade?

I had my clutch & RMS replaced at the same time and it took a day or two due to scheduling. At Speed Motorsports did the work, and I was happy with the install.
