Default Question for Tubi Owners

I just picked up my 997.2 c4s with a newly installed (used) tubi. Sounds amazing on the freeway especially in the high RPM range. Two questions..

It seems very tame at idle. is this normal?

Also, when car is in idle, i feel quite a bit of rumble.. reminds me of my harley..

just wanted to get some opinions on this... thank you!

yep, pretty much the same here
I have a 2009 C4S with a Tubi, w/o the center bypass
At WOT it creates 95 dB, which I learned tha hard way in Laguna-Seca :-(

My experience was about the same. Nice exhaust.

I found mine to have a little deeper tone at idle, and louder as throttle is applied, even in the lower (under 3k rpm) range.
Over 3500 or so, it is much louder than stock.
Along with the sound, I liked equally the burps at shifts, both up and down with the PDK.

One of the nice things about Tubi. Almost stock quiet at low rpm's but as wild as you want it higher up. Not sure about the rumble at idle though unless you're talking about cold start where it's a bit lively. Settles down in about a minute.

For the vibrations check the straps that hold the center cross over pipes....they should not be cranked down tight. They need room to flex some so back off the tightness of these straps and the vibrations should go away some.

This brings up a good question, what CAN one do to these 997s that wont make them a no go at the track?

OP: do you have the 3rd muffler delete as well? if you want more sound, you should get it removed (or not ).

My installer did not reused the straps. He said that they were too big and it wasn't needed. Also, the instructions said not to reuse it. It works perfect and the sound is incredible, specially under load.

Your installer was a hack and full of misinformation, then.
See attached pic of the 997.2 system. It's a lousy picture from their website.

On the cross over pipes you can see the brackets that are welded on each pipe for the sole purpose of attaching the straps.

The instructions say to use the straps and also reuse the pipe-to-pipe clamps from the stock system, as they aren't included in Tubi's kit, either.

With stock headers and cats Tubi is very tame...same for Fabspeed and especially AWE.

The center crossover tubes need to be strapped to take off the weight on the headers and their welded pieces. The crossover tubes have a place to use the straps. Just do not tighten the straps down too tight or they will transfer vibration. Just tight enough to support the system.
