Big cab fan here too. I migrated from my first cab to a Targa, but found I missed the cab and went back. Loved the Targa, but not quite the same. The 991 cab looks great IMO, and I like the firm top which I expect may be a little quieter too.
It is much rainier and cooler here in the PNW than it was in So Cal, but I find I enjoy the top down almost more here since I seldom have the problem with heat and too much sun on my head. Cruising top down in the 50's and 60's (F) is wonderful
Good luck with your choice. Too bad the new ones are so expensive. In the meantime, you already appear to have a great car!

+1. The 991 cab is beautiful. The roof line is amazing.

Do what I did. Get a hard-top for your cabriolet. Then you have it three ways--cabriolet top up, top down, and hard-top on. Each has a different look. I like them all and each has special advantages. A coupe is...well, it's just a coupe.

A lot of this obviously is dictated by where you live. In Nome Alaska the coupes outnumber the cabriolets about 8 to 1.

I like the looks of my cab with the top up and down. With Basalt Black the top blends well and gives the complete look. I have three convertibles ( Plymouth Prowler, Cheverolet SSR and 997.2 Cab) and the top down ability adds much to my enjoyment. Go for the cab.

I also would say go for the cab..I live in So. California, there's nothing like driving with the top down. Go with the cab!

I love cabs, actually I have one. Just not Porsche. IMO, Porsche's lines look so much better in a coupe. Coupe all the way. Personal preference

The timelessly classic roofline of the coupe does it for me, too. There is nothing like the driving experience of a topless Porsche, but I prefer the extra chassis stiffness of the coupe on a twisty back road, which is where I try to do most of my P-car driving.

+1. Though I can see how nice a cab would be on nice days, particular the sound of the flat six with the wind whistling away. I get the windows open as much as possible and its quite nice.

Just love the coupe lines and extra stiffness.

You can't go wrong what ever you decide.

Been thru this decision process a number of times. Always end up with the cab. When the top is down, doesn't have to be all the time, can't beat it especially with the music turned up. Also had to go with the manual. Tried the PDK on the 91...nice...but didn't have the same feel as the manual...

I had a Boxster and loved the top down but have since owned 2 911 coupes, a turbo and C4S.

Ideal combo would be to add a Boxster Spyder to my current C4S coupe.

That would give me a summer and winter car, .
