After close to 7 years of life, the coolant I flushed from my car looked absolutely clean.
Perhaps the lifetime moniker is truer than I suspected for the coolant.
It seems pentosin sf is = Porsche coolant but is ironically its no cheaper.
With a 25 liter capacity this car has a few hundred $ of coolant in it!

OK but what was the pH? A 7 year flush is a great idea.
Its about 3 gallons of coolant ($100ish) and equal parts distilled water ($5ish). Not a "few hundred $".

Didn't think about pH.
We should submit the lifetime coolant notion to mythbusters

Great that you started flushing the coolant yourself. Did you drain it from the plug below the WP? Keep in mind that the entire system holds ~8+ gallons (31-33 liters depending on trim model) so you may want to do a second flush at a later time to get more of it replaced. IMHO "Lifetime" is really a marketing moniker for life of the warranty - 4 yrs factory + 2 yrs CPO or 6 yrs total at most... I don't believe in oil changes every 20K miles either like Porsche recommended for the '07 997.1. BTW, I was at the local p-dealer last month getting some gear oil. Somehow we got on the topic of lifetime fluids like coolant. The SA and parts manager both rolled their eyes and LOL when the topic of "lifetime" coolant came up. Anyways great that you're addressing this maintenance item. Make sure you burped the coolant system as well.
Here's another link re VW coolant as a substitute for Porsche coolant. https://rennlist.com/forums/997-foru...-question.html

It would take a lifetime to answer.....![Stick Out Tongue](https://rennlist.com/forums/images/smilies/tongue.gif)
DS_1 is right, as usual.
It's about 32 +/- 1 L o/all capacity according to Aral chart.
One more thought. Any wetting agent? Redline Water Wetter & Motul MoCool come to my mind....

When I had my 997.2 (which I sold last year), I did a coolant flush.
I used Zerex G40 (purple) and did it while I removed the front bumper to clean the dirt on the radiators. I was able to dump all 8 gals of the old coolant out by removing the hose connected to the radiators. With the Uview Airlift hooked up in reverse will in essence pressurize the system with a compressor by attaching the connectors to the coolant bottle. Turn on the compressor. All the coolants will be blown out from the hose that you disconnected from the radiators. Use a big catch pan because you are collecting 8 gals of the old coolant. Refilling the coolant is the reverse of the process. The radiator hose are the quick connect type and I always use some silicon grease to lube the connectors so that they will be seated securely. Use the Uview Airlift vacuum connected to the compressor to evict air and then I use the same catch pan prepped with 50/50 Zerex G40 to refill the system. This procedure seems to be the only thorough way to discharge all the old coolants. Yes, I tried draining it from the drain plug and it just doesn't work. Its like a guy with BPH problem and you are lucky if you are able to get 3 gallons out of the system.
Yes, the 997.2's old coolant still looked good. I think removing the front bumpers every 5-6 years to clean the radiators is a good opportunity to get a coolant flush while the radiators are accessible.
