Default Coolant question

Would anyone happen to know if VW/Audi coolant (that's how it's written on the container) is the same stuff as Porsche coolant. They are both pink. The VW/Audi container says "safe for aluminum engines." My son bought the VW/Audi coolant for his VW GTI, and I was just wondering.
Thanks.

The VW G12 pink such as Pentosin Pentofrost SF is the same. I had it mixed with Porsche fluid w/o any issues.

See this link:

In fact the mix is still in my engine. It didn't blow up yet ????

Cheers,

Luke, thanks for that link. I had heard that they were the same but never actually found a reference with VW and P-car P/N's to verify.

The VW Autobahn stuff is really good. I would not hesitate to use it in the Porsche engine.

I wonder why the Pentosin Pentofrost SF coolant states "good up to 2005" for VW and Audi engines. What changed after 2005?

Most welcome.
Both fluids have slightly different shade of 'pink'.
Taste about the same.... just kidding
Mix well, don't cause any issues. None so far at least.
Pentosin is not much cheaper North of 49th than Porsche fluid.

BlueJay, no idea.
My last VW was a complete disaster, called it "Black widow". Hate black on cars to this very day!!!
They possibly replaced with with more suited/specialized fluid past 2005? Wild guess....
