My dad bought his first of many Porsches in 1994 after beating his battle with cancer. Most of my favorite childhood memories involved going for weekend drives with him in that car. In 2007 he lost his battle with cancer. At that time I set a goal for myself to one day buy a Porsche in his honor.
Last week I purchased my first Porsche, a 997.1 S X51 with only 17000 miles. It was delivered to me yesterday! I just finished my first drive today and I can't imagine a better way to honor my dad on father's day. It's truly incredible how emotional a car can make you. I couldn't be happier to be part of the 997 community and celebrate my dad with such an incredible car.
Hell ya! Congrats and welcome. This touches me as I bought my car a month after my dad lost his battle with cancer at 66 (1 yr ago). Decided its time to live life and car is in honor of him.
These cars are such a joy plus it brings my 5 yr old and I together in many ways. I hope to create memory's much like you did with your Father. Thanks for sharing
