BTW, I like to know more about your transition from 997.1 --> 997.2 --> 991 --> 997.1 TT!

It's a fairing and yes it's supposed to direct wind from going under the rack and decrease wind noise. My primarily reason for it is because it looks cool. But hey, I'm shallow. Unfortunately they don't come in white.

You have to mod it slightly to get it to fit with the Porsche (made by Thule) aero bars. If you get serious about one let me know so I can measure mine so you get the right one the first time. I guessed and had to return my first one for a different size.

I'll chime in here......It's great, super cool indeed !
Got a sort of artsy flair, in an anti-Kara-Mann way.
I like that.
Well thought out and well-executed. Can't argue there.
And it works for you. What else matters?
The neighbors need to get lives.
Or maybe they've all got spinners from Kmart on their '97 Accords?
Maybe that's the problem. 

As a former bike racer and time trialist, I love it. Those four snaps on the roof of
996's 997s are for one thing... a bike rack. And I have a limited edition Navitimer so I get the
watches too. The ONLY thing I have to differ is, when I was done I was so spent, I had to have
the wifey drive me home, especially mountain bike races. Road bikes not so much.
But I spent $400 to get my Litespeed painted Ferrari Blue.

I like the rack - shows off the fact that the 911 can be used every day and in many different situations.

However - that bike is hideous, sorry ... but hey, if you like it at least it's unique.

The 911 is like any other car, and can pull utilitarian duties.

I used mine for skiing, so I hauled my skis on the back.
