WTB: 997.2 fog light
Looking for a used pair of 997.2 fog lights for a project.
Dont want to buy new to tear them up.
Let me know if you have a damaged or scratched or extra set laying around.

You did ask about 997.2, correct? 997.2 does NOT have front fog lights. Nothing in the 997.2 owner's manual refers to front fog lights so not sure where you're getting your info.

Call them whatever you want...they still are not fog lights. Check the 997.1 owner's manual and you'll see that you can turn the front fog lights on with the headlamp switch (one click out) - can't do that with the 997.2 because they are not fog lights. This is what a 997 fog light looks like:

Similar, but not the same. "JUST GOT OWNED!" - what are we, back in high school?

I actually thought it was funny....what's wrong with bringing it back old school.
Regardless, I think you knew what he was talking about.

For the pictures, mark what you are referring to please?
IN the headlight assembly, one projector bulb is the high beam and the other is the low beam... in the auto pivot headlight option.
In the front bumper cover that is a daytime running light and turn signal.
Not a fog light.
My understanding is that because the 997.2 only comes with HID low-beams, which are much more focused, cutting under the fog farther than traditional halogen low beams, there is no need for fog lights on the car, so they didn't put them on.
If you purchased a car that doesn't have HID but only halogens such as the 997.1's then they likely will have fog lights.
Fog lights and daytime running lights are not the same and its not a question of semantics. They have different beam patterns and intensities. Forward fog lights are designed to cut under the fog and illuminate the road ahead farther. Fog lights should not be used when there is no significant fog because the aim of the lights will be slightly blinding to oncoming traffic. Daytime running lights are designed just to be visible to oncoming traffic and not designed to provide road illumination for the driver. Their focus and intensity is entirely different.
Now maybe Porsche builds 997.2's for some markets that don't come standard with HID low beams, and for those cars they would produce fog light assemblies, but I don't think those would normally be used on North American 997.2s as they all came with standard HID. If thats the case you would need to get them from non North American market cars.

Trust me. There are no fog lights on the 997.2. Those are day time running lights. Switch on the parking lights or headlights and they dim. They cannot be turned on independently like normal fogs

We were just trying to correct your ignorance on the topic. You seem combative and content to stay ignorant, which we cannot help you with. If you want to buy something, step one is to call it by its correct name. We cannot help you if you cannot be clear on what you want.. which is still a mystery.
Do you want to purchase a fog light assembly that fits in the slot where North American 997.2 cars have their daytime running lights? Or are you looking to buy the daytime running light assembly?
If you would focus on answering that sort of question, you might get help, rather than pointlessly ranting about your misunderstanding of the terminology.
