If it's a real -05 launch car it's black and has the PCCB brakes with yellow calipers. I don't think they're considered problematic except when something does break they're very expensive to fix so give all four of those a good going over.

I passed a 2005 C2S Black with PCCB brakes ($42K in 2010), because of the cost of the brakes. Instead I went with a 2006 C4S which was a little bit more expensive ($47K in 2010) but so much better.
A single chip on these PCCB rotors and you need to get a second or third mortgage.

I've got a 2005 997.1. I had the IMS replaced and have had no problems with the car. IMO, they're very reliable.

How many miles on your '05? The more I read the more terrified I become of the scored cylinder epidemic that seems to be looming.
