What's up with these cheap looking oem lug bolts?
Could someone please explain to me why Porsche uses those crappy, KMart-brand-looking lug bolts on $100K cars?

Hey, that sounds great. Where did you get them and how well do they hold up when removing and reinstalling the wheels? I also have black wheels and the corroded, but not rusty yet, bolts do look ugly.

Have any of you considered these? They're used on Audi's, and are the right size.
Upon further reflection, I can't recall if the Porsche bolts take a 17mm or 19mm socket. It's been a few years since I last had to deal with Porsche lug bolts. I've got Center Locks now and would gladly have to deal with lug bolts, rusty or not.

You need 19s.
I agree on the center locks.

19mm. Funny, I just ordered a set of these. Only concern would be on the track and possible heat / melting. I don't track. Figured for $20 will give it a shot, as even in dry socal ( I do live at the beach though) mine are looking like hell and I was about to pull the trigger on $160 worth of black bolts from SunCoast. If they look like crap I'll get the read deal.

Years ago this was never an issue. Wheels were Fuchs alloys and the fasteners were aluminum nuts. Corrosion was never a factor. Over the years Porsche has allowed economics to enter into the equation. What you can always do is take them to your wire wheel machine, clean them up, and then primer them and paint them GT silver. If you don't remove them often that paint job will last a long time
