Default Options for getting XM/Sirius on 997.2 without factory XM module option

I've read through the search archives on here and 6speed and I know there is a lot of discussion on this but it seems the information has changed. I did find topics about a NAV-TV product for PCM3.0 that added XM radio but it seems the units had bugs, some VINS didn't work at all for some reason and it looks like the company dropped the product. Are there any reliable current OEM or aftermarket options for adding XM/Sirius radio to these cars? I'm in the market for a 2009 997.2 PDK and it pains me when I find a car (and those searching like me know there isn't a lot of inventory out there now) with the right colors and options but misses the XM module. For me it's a must have as it's all I listen to in my cars. I have 8 favorite channels I shuffle through all day. Thanks for any help.

Ever thought of using your phone's app? I'm probably going to go the Sirius app route in the spring in my 997.1 via a Dension 500s. It's absurd that there is no plug in module and requires a swap of the PCM.

I'm sure I don't want to ask the parts & labor cost to swap the PCM?

Question om the app with an iphone5 is can you change the channels on the radio or is everything controlled thoguh the phone. Either way it's not how i'd like to have it setup.

No unfortunately all controls would be via the iPhone app. I think PCMs are ~$1500 used plus install, antenna, etc.

More bad news, I found some used PCM 3.0 units on ebay under $1k and got excited, then I searched on here to see if anyone has done this. Well they have, and it doesn't work. It's totally crazy how Porsche has these PCM's coded. Kills me I have to walk away from potential perfect cars for me because I can't get the damn XM radio. Came standard in my damn 2008 Audi A4 with the basic radio. Ridiculous!

If you are getting a 997.1, you can easily add the OEM Sirius/XM module. I did this with my 997.1 in about 3 hours for $600.

Clearly I have not done a good enough search of the forum. You can plug in a factory module into the PCM? Can the same thing be done for Bluetooth?

I have a 997.1S cab.

So here are some pictures from a car off ebay. Looks like a clean professional after-market install under the armrest plugged into the AUX jack, but... Do you have to open the armrest, turn yourself around (all while driving!) every time you want to change the channel? How would anyone be happy with that? Or am i missing something?

It's a little more than plugging it in...however, you will not need to cut or splice any wires or fiber optics. For a 997.1, everything is done in the frunk and under the window cowl. Installation differs slightly depending on whether or not you have nav.

The OEM kit is made for a cayenne but works with a 997.1. Suncoast has the kits for sale in their 997 section.

I bought a 2006 Cayenne in Jan '06 just as the kit was released. My dealer installed it the day before I picked it up and it has been awesome. There's a sticky on this. See above. Dave
