Default Engine power?

Just flipping through the owner's manual and I see they list two S engines for my 2007 C2S: M97/01 (355 hp) and M97/01S (381 hp). How can you tell which one you have short of taking a peek at the block? I thought the 380 hp version was direct injection and came about with 997.2. Is M97/01S the version with the X51 kit maybe?

The 381hp is the X51 package. The X51 kit came with a carbon fiber air box.

And most importantly, the extra 15k that this engine configuration costs.

Yes it did...lol

The X51 package came with:
Different

- Intake Manifold & Throttle Body - Increases inlet size from 76 mm to 82 mm
- X51 Headers - larger cross-section and optimized flow behavior
- Carbon Fiber Airbox with two intake channels
- Modified maps for the DME control unit
- Sport Exhaust with Chrome Tips & Dash Switch
- Third Radiator Kit (for manual transmission cars)
- Increased Engine Speed

^ No different camshafts for the 997 version of the X51, only on the 996 version.

^ No problem... I understand why anyone could think the 997 kit includes camshafts as Suncoast just quoted from the brochure that Porsche dealers had at the time, but then they correctly omitted it from the list that follows on the same page from their site. I have it on my car and have the complete list of parts - that is why I know there are no different camshafts on the 997 version, only on the 996.
