I've had 2 white loaners for about a week each in the past few months. The first, a white Panamera Hybrid and the 2nd a 997.2 Carrera S. I lost track of how many compliments I got on the color of the Panamera. Conversely, I've gotten quite a few unsolicited negative comments on the white on the 997. One of my friends went so far as to say that the white on the 997 was a "waste".
I have no skin in the game, my car is blue. I've been surprised by the comments. I think the white looks just fine.

Interesting. My Cayenne S is white and I get a lot of nice compliments on it. I've seen white Carreras that look terrific. As with any exterior color, wheels, interior color, and even a clean car and a good wax job can make a difference in the overall effect. Maybe the other features on your loaner car didn't help make it "pop".

Just look at Chaos"s white Carrera with the aerokit. That has to be one of the all-time greats. I love it.

Porsche white is also call Carrara white.

The ladies seem to appreciate Carrera white as well... just look at Chao's avatar. My prior cabs were white (M3 and Z3). Great color during the summer months in TX. I decided to get a more subtle color this time - guards red.
