White: Panamera good, 997 not so much

When I was in college before I could afford a 911, I used to think that white didn't look good on p-cars.
It was always silver or black for me. Over a decade later, a couple 911's and a deeper understanding of the car's history I think white is one of the most iconic and best looking colors on a 911, especially motorsport related models like GT3s.
The fact that anyone thinks a Panamera looks good in white let alone any color of the rainbow is concerning.

I've had 2 white loaners for about a week each in the past few months. The first, a white Panamera Hybrid and the 2nd a 997.2 Carrera S. I lost track of how many compliments I got on the color of the Panamera. Conversely, I've gotten quite a few unsolicited negative comments on the white on the 997. One of my friends went so far as to say that the white on the 997 was a "waste".
I have no skin in the game, my car is blue. I've been surprised by the comments. I think the white looks just fine.

I think white is great - i think i will get it on my next one. I think the 997 looks great in white and so does the 991 (i think it looks better in lighter colors).

Thanks for the comments. I could not find a white 996 TT so I bought this. My wife was with me when we looked at it in Florida and she said it was love at first sight.
When I met her the first time I was driving a lapis blue 996 cab(my all time favorite color) and she would no go out again because of the "Chach" car.
