Would someone with access to CarFax be able to run this VIN for me?

TIA

I hate to sound like a jerk, but seriously, is the $50 or less for a CarFax report going to break your bank?

I was waiting for that response from a fellow RL'er. Thankfully, another Rennlister already PM'ed me the information.

Just remember it's CarFax, not car facts.
A "clean CarFax" is NOT a guarantee of anything.

I recently sold a car (not a Porsche) which had a $14k repair following an accident.
The CarFax was clean as a whistle. (I told the buyer about the repair, BTW.)

If there is no police report...if your body shop doesn't cooperate with CarFax (many high-end shops can't be bothered), CarFax doesn't get the info.
They promote it as "foolproof." It's a waste of money, IMO.

Pay for a PPO by someone you can trust. It's the only way to go.

I am surprised that this thread was not terminated immediately by the moderators. Soliciting someone else with a Carfax account is asking them to disregard the terms of service they agreed to and pirate Carfax of their services. Cheap and makes the forum look dishonest. Why not ask the seller to provide the Carfax?

Call Lance Armstrong - I'm sure he has a way to get this for you.

Just to give you an idea of how useless Carfax is.

I FLIPPED an 05 Mustang GT. Fixed it up and sold it with a CLEAN carfax report.

My Shelby GT500's Carfax report had "issue found - accident", I was the original owner and the car had not ever been in any kind of accident, not even a door ding.

Just my personal record. I'm sure there are tens of thousands of others with false reports.

^^^^this
Mods must be off this weekend.
If you want to run a report, buy it. It's bogus and cheap as hell to get somebody else to run it for you, exclusive of it's useful value.

Sadly Carfax is becoming the Defacto standard for car transactions and it is full of errors. I am told even an act of God will not remove say an erroneous accident on Carfax.

Nor will Carfax necessarily report an Act of God. I had a 2001 A4 which I sold two weeks before Katrina to a girl who promptly parked it at her parent's beach house in Mississippi while she went on a trip out of NO.

The waves crashing over my poor A4 during Katrina was one of the widely used photos from the storm.

A few years ago I checked the Carfax on it for grins, and though it was listed as being resold in Mississippi the month after Katrina, no damage reported.

Furthermore, I was rear-ended in it when it was new, causing $15k in damage and replacement of a rear frame member, which also did not show on the Carfax.

Had I seen the OP, the thread would have been deleted. Rennlist will not be used to violate Carfax terms of sevice or copyright. Please take note.

Thanks,
