2nd car recommendation!

I would lean towards a VW or Audi, the VW GTI is a crazy fun car and has more room than the others you mentioned. Same with the Audi A3.
It may seem like a carzy choice, but I would also test drive the Ford Focus ST, it blows all those cars away in fun factor and practicality, the looks have grown on me also.

Or Golf R.
[oops] Too late to this party;-)

OK, I will weigh in as well. My daily driver is a 2010 VW GTI 4 door.
Great car and inexpensive if you want to do some mods. I purchased a set of OEM takeoff wheels and tires for $1200.00 shipped (for four including TPMS). A short shift kit cost $50.00.
In addition, if you short shift and go light on the throttle, you can get 30+ mpg.

So the update is that we have a MINI John Cooper Works on order.
It's a custom build so we won't have it until April 10th, but that's ok.
It's plenty fun and will be fun looking as well which is what she wanted. So... I'm going to start looking at a 3rd vehicle again :-)

Nice build and fantastic cars to drive.
Couple issues to be aware of: some drink oil, keep oil full, timing tensioner & chwin issues, carbon build up on intake valves, water pump and thermostat housings known to fail early.
Our mcs is the highest maintenance car we have ever owned but it is but it is a great car to drive.

Thanks for the heads up on the maintenance. We'll keep it in mind.
We don't need to drive our cars too much, but will try to put it through it's paces early enough to see how it behaves!

Agreed Black looks Outstanding if you can keep up with it, with 3 young kids I can not even keep up with White/Silver. Maybe down the road I will get another.
