Default How to get GT2/GT3RS trim sills to fit a NB?

Guys, I really want to put these trim sills on my 997. Any ideas? Anyone know if a company produces them for a nb?

I am not sure why, but they won't wotk on NB cars. Check out the Techart side skirts at sharkwerks.com.

I feel like they could fit with some customizing. I might bite the bullet and try to figure it out...

Why do this? I understand you are going for a faux gt3 look, but why not buy a gt3 instead of investing money into something that will have no value on resale. Just my 2 cents, and to each their own I guess.

Keep in mind that a GT3 is also narrow body. Only the GT2 and GT3RS in your samples are wide.

GT3 = $$$$

Trim Sills = not so much.

Yes but all the conversions he has done = $$$$ that has no return. I think it is no different then buying this http://freerevs.com/pictures/34506817.jpg and calling it an f40.

HA!

Just because you prefer to drive a stock 997 doesnt mean everyone else does. There are quite a few flaws with the stock 997, they did not make a perfect car and no one rarely does.

And I am not building a fake GT3, i dont badge it as a GT3 or act like it is. I prefer the sublte look of that trim versus some of the other side skirts i could purchase.

Yea, thats the issue. I just wonder how much modifying will be needed to fit a NB and if its worth it....

No one in their right mind here mods their car thinking they're going to get a positive return on investment. Most if not all mods are sunk costs (you recoup some money in the secondary market), but most people do it because without individualization, then all our cars would look exactly the same wouldn't they....Now there are different degrees of mods, some done in better taste and more subtle than others, some purely for performance...etc

Personally I don't like mods on my car, but they certainly make going to places such as cars & coffee a little more interesting. If we all had stock 911s, why go?

What i'm saying is if you bought a real gt3 instead of pouring 1,000s of dollars down the drain making a Carrera look like one you could actually have a return on your investment when it came time to sell. I have nothing against mods/ individualizing your car (in fact i'm waiting to get Fister exhausts right now). The thing i'm against is making your car look like something it isn't (posing), such as the gt3 conversion.

Mate, we're talking about sideskirts here. NO ONE will think he's posing. In fact, most people won't even notice the difference. I don't think he's going to throw on a GT3 badge and try to pass his car as something it isn't. That's crossing the line.
