Default CA Brings Back Old License Plates for 2013

If 7500 people pre-order, then these vintage CA plates will go back into production in 2013. You can order them for any year car, not just older models.
The yellow-on-blue '70s plate would look excellent on Dan's (edgy) beautiful blue cab, don't you think?

Very cool!! Other states should do the same. For some reason, I like that big font on the yellow plate - looks more nostalgic.

Speaking as 2 of 2 in CA, it's a nice thought but No. Too matchy-matchy for me but he may think otherwise.

My understanding is they go into production as soon as 7500 orders come in.
This is how other specialty plates have been introduced (UCLA, Purple Heart, Firefighters, etc.).
I'd imagine the hot rod community alone would generate 7500 orders in a few weeks' time. We'll see.

I wonder if you can order the secret Harry Pellow black and gold, no ticket, 0o variant? Or does that trick even work.

And BTW this whole thing kind of bugs me. Am I the only one?

You should only be allowed to order period correct plates for you car. I like having a car with the original black and gold plates. It meant something special.

I just completed the form to order the blue/yellow personalized plates for my 71 SIX. Happy to pay the $50 to be able to obtain these plates in the period correct colors.

Do inmates still make plates? I know they make computer peripherals for HP in Texas and electric wheelchairs in Luisianna.

I think these plates work well with vintage cars, I would never put one on any new cars.
