OP,

Here is a link to a post I made a few years back which had detailed instructions for removing/installing the mufflers. Back then I had a 996, but the process is fundamentally the same for 997 or 996 cars.

I hope this helps.

By the way - I have the C2S mufflers if anybody wants them. They are just in the way and I still have the boxes the Tubi came in so packing is easy. You could have them sent out for a Gundo hack while using your current system. Somebody offer me $100 for them, + shipping (probably around $75) and they are yours.
UPDATE - sold to LuckyMBA.

Get ready to wait a LONG time bro. I was told by Darin that I'm next on the list for a non-S exhaust, and that was a while ago....

According to him, people aren't sending their cores back in a timely fashion.

I've been waiting two months... How about you?

(I can already see a " Waiting for Fister exhaust" sticky in our future. lol)

Just got the email from Darin today... mine are in the fab process. I should have them by about the first!

I'll make sure to get the cores back ASAP for the next lucky guy/gal.

Congrats Bill. I'm sure you'll love it.

Is yours an S or non-S? If it's a non-S, I might conceivably end up with your core!

Thanks! It's a C2.

I made the mistake of test driving a 2011 C2S recently. I now wish I had held out for an S! lol

My buddy and I go out on the twisties here in the Nashville and his C2 seems just at fast as mine. I wouldn't worry about it. He has the Fister's as well but my car does seem a little louder. Probably the displacement.

When you get them you should post some pictures of install.

I fear I'm in the same boat. Also want a set for my Targa 4, so I'm in line behind all of you guys now....

Contenplating sending my stock exhaust in, but hate not being able to drive it for 4-6 weeks.

I may have a set of Gundo'd stock cans as early as this weekend. Sound is very good and in excellent overall condition. Can supply pics as soon as they are removed. No wait and you can sell your stock cans to offset the cost. If anyone might be interested, you can PM me directly.

Hurry up and send it in once you get your new one! Hope you've taken real good care of it for me.
