I pay $200 at the dealer and get to drive a Panamera for a day.
I get oil changes done there while the car is under warranty.
Warranty expires before my next oil change is due, so I need to research a few Indy shops here in PHX.

Ditto.... which Indy in the RI area? My car is under warranty so my next service will be at the Warwick dealership, but after that i'll need a good Indy. German Motors in Providence did some small service on my older 1987 Carrera, but i'm looking for options for my 07C2S.

DIY oil change is all good even if you pay regular price for the oil; you still come out ahead.
Issue is how you all deal with resetting the service light?
Just let it go? Use Durametic? Pay your dealer to do it?

I have a good relationship with my dealer, no doubt in part because I've purchased 3 Porsches from them, but they are also stand-up people, especially my sales guy and the SM. They reset my service light gratis. It can be an annoyance if you don't have a cooperative dealer.

You took the words right out of my mouth. My mechanic always drags a cable from his computer to my car and goes through a process to reset. Is there a DIY method available to us?

Use a durametric tool to reset. Pays for itself after two dyi oil change. Makes oil changes affordable to the point of doing them more often then the minimum recommended by the factory is fiscally viable. Also allows for more frequent inspection of the oil n filter for metal particles... a sign of pending engine problems. Cut the paper filter n search for any metal or plastic particles after each change. More frequent inspections/oil changes at $60 per 3k miles is nothing compared to a $20k engine.

No, not that I'm aware of, short of buying the Durametric diagnostic tool.

Thanks "all" for the filter source suggestions. I was at the dealership and the oil change was fresh on my mind so I picked up the filter. Won't be doing that again!
Appears you can keep the cost of oil & filter under $100
My bill for the filter of $48.55 did include the aluminum seal ring ($4.31)
By the way: I had a choice of filters at the Indy shop. I opted for the original equiptment but he felt a Mann filter was superior, which he also carried. Thoughts?
Last comment: Porsche of Warwick had a nice mix of 991s & 997s in the showroom & on the lot. I still contend it takes a discerning eye to tell them apart. (rear badging was the give away)

Current car is an 07C2S. Use Motul 8100 excess which I buy on sale on Amazon for about $7 liter with free shipping (5 liter containers). I have LN Engineering spin on adapter so it uses Napa Gold 1042 spin on....about $5. Total cost is about $70 for the oil change. I bought a filter cutter so I check the spin on filter element each time. Dump the old oil in gallon milk jugs and set it on the curb for recycle. Takes longer to wait the 20 minutes for it to drain than the rest of the job. No brainer...if you have a garage and a half hour you can save a pile of money. So easy and cheap I do it every 3000 miles just for fun.

gla,
Went right to the LN Engineering site to check out their Spin On option. (didn't know that was available)
They claim the downside is the metal spin on is harder to inspect (metal particles, etc) and is less enviormentally friendly, the upside is the ease of replacement and better filtration. They also claim no warranty issues.
Hadn't heard any discussion of this on the LIST? pros & cons
