understatement of the year. 
seriously, dont waste $ on labor (especially at a stealership!). i was skeptical before i first tried years ago but if you can change a lightbulb, chances are you can do a brake job with no problems if you follow the DIY.

It depends. It depends upon your driving style and your equipment. For example, I have 72,000 miles on my 06 and have quite a bit left on my original pads and no wear on my rotors at all. (Then again, I spent $8000 for PCCBs when I ordered it to defer brake maintenance....)
I miss my PCCB's.
