How do your rear tires wear?

Time for a new set of rears - the belts are showing on the inside. Roughly 0.100" tread still on the outside. Both rears worn about the same.
Is this normal -or- should they wear more evenly? I had a four wheel alignment not too long ago after a drunk biatch ran me off the road.
Thanks in advance !

Edge to edge that doesn't sound too bad. I'd agree with changing them out sooner. I've got about 8000 mi. on a set of MPSSs and they still look pretty good. So far the rears are showing about 1/32" more wear on the inside. I just added more camber in the rear which will most likely wear the insides faster.

Thanks for the reassurance.
I was checking the wear by feeling the outer half of the tire. I looked and felt the whole tire last wekend after a wash and wheel cleaning.
I'm pretty sure I was doing low triple digits speeds on the belts a few times, and moist roads - whew - kind of scary. Lesson learned.
Come to think of it I bought the car about 9,000 miles ago with fresh tires, so I guess its time.
What kind of mileage do you get out of the fronts?

Maybe I need to drive more agressively but my front PS2s are going on 40 K miles and the rears at 20 K still have 6/32 left. I was hoping to switch out to PSS but these tires just last forever.

Depends on brand, etc., but that's a general replacement cycle.
If you're going to haul *** on "moist" roads, put 4 new ones on it.

Don't know how you did that short of running up your miles on a dyno. I've consistently been getting half that or less on two 997's over 65,000 miles. 8K to 10K on the rears and double that on the fronts seems very common so you've got something special going on.

At what tread depth should I replace the tires? I'm at @27k on the OEM Michelin Pilots on my 2011 Cayman.

It is a MUST to have a really good look at your rear tires every now and then, I had the 997 in for service work and the tech refused to test drive the car, they showed me exposed cords on the very inside of the r/r tire even though looking at the tire on the ground looked good.

Mine wear more on the outside. Most likely due to the Angeles Crest being a few miles from work. If I'm having a bad day, that's my goto lunch time release.

It surprises me the number of these cars, 993, 996 and 997 I see on the road with rear tires that are showing cord on the inside and the rest of the car is spotless. Everytime I dress my tires (bi-weekly) I look at the rears closely for wear and then check all tires for nails, etc. Easy to do as I jack the car up to make it easy to clean the barrels of the wheels and dress them.
