Default What are you using to treat rubber/vinyl trim?

Just wondering what good products are out there for preserving the rubber/vinyl trim and seal pieces on the exterior?

I use silicone spray onto a microfiber towel and apply on all exterior rubber and plastic.

I use Adams Super VRT - very happy with it. Apply with a foam applicator to target only appropriate areas. Also works well on door sills.

Gummie Pflege good. Silicone bad for rubber seals.

Silicone spray on a towel works well for rubber although I actually use a silicone gel from BMW that is great for door seals and the like. There's not a whole lot of vinyl in a full leather Porsche interior, and for what is there I prefer a damp cloth as I don't like the sheen that most vinyl protectants leave. One of the better ones in this regard, IMO, is Meguiars Gold Class vinyl and rubber protectant.

+1 for 303. On everything vinyl, plastic or rubber, inside and out.

Are teh tubes of Gummi Pflege gel available again? I thought it was NLA. Last time I saw it, it was replaced with an Armor All looking milky fluid in a bottle with a foam applicator on it.

I've had mine for a long time so don't know if it's still available in the tube.

Apparently Einzett still makes it. Bottles are available on Amazon

Silly as it sounds, baby powder (talcum powder) is really good for rubber seals. I would apply it prior to the winter season to keep rubber seals flexible and 'live' during the cold months where they normally freeze up. With baby powder on them they shed water which can freeze and then opening is more difficult.

Another +1 for 303... I need to order some more. Not too shiny... looks natural and was originally developed for marine/salt water usage so very durable.

Griots Vinyl & Rubber dressing works very well for me. An 8 oz bottle lasts me 2 summers. It gives the tires that fresh look without being too shiny. I also use it on the trim and door seals, great stuff.

Without question 303 Aerospace Protectant for rubber, vinyl, and tires. Proven product with strong UV protection. I have been using it for over a decade and rubber/vinyl trim exposed to sunlight looks today as good as new (10 years ago).
