Default Center console swap

Had a paint to match console in my 997.1 that I liked. Picked up a black console a while back on the cheap thinking I would have it painted to match. Got kinda bored during a rainy Saturday and installed it in it's stock form.

I like it and may leave it instead of painting to match. It matches the rest of the black like the PCM, etc. perfectly. Same look, texture, feel, etc.

Below is before (dealer pic), during, and after. So what do you think. Leave it, paint it, return to stock?

It's not bad but I think I like the original matching better. I wish you would have included more pictures from different angles of the "new look".

Keep it and let it be the beginning. Add e-brake and center lid in black, then all the stuff I have swapped out on mine, and you end up with a unique and attractive interior.

Hmm, don't know. What's the exterior color? Black? If so, have it painted, then it matches.

I ordered my painted black from Eric at BP and should be coming soon.

Something about that painted finish that really makes it pop and my car is triple black.

I like the continuity idea...but I'm not sure how it will do long term in terms of you looking to do something different there.

At first look I thought it looked alright, but the more I peeked at your picture I decided that it just doesn't match enough inside. Get it covered with cowhide or something. The leather finishes last far longer than any paintwork. Maybe Eric can outsource to a leather expert.

I did the same thing to my old 997.2 due to the fact that the Sand Beige just drove me crazy in terms of both the look and keeping it clean as well. I got Eric at Bumperplugs to do a custom paint on a center console and also PDK surround too. Added a leather crest console cover from Suncoast and upgraded shifter and e-brake and got the look I think you are looking for. Also sourced leather side panels in black from Eric/Bumperplugs too. Search my previous post but take a look here. Gave the car a nice upgrade and look with the cockpit feel I was looking for. Hope this helps.

The Satin Black we did above was a stunner - and ties in nicely with the stock satin back PCM faceplates.

I'd go that route, or exterior gloss finish, but feel free to email me anytime if you want to discuss, and since you have a spare, we can paint that, or do the usual core exchange.

I'd recommend the PDK surround in leather. It looks great!

I know what you are thinking... the sun visors look awful with the airbag sticker... I have since upgraded those as well, and the interior looks perfect now!

I think you should take the slip cover off of that, and repost.

man I hope she doesn't use body lotion with lanolin. That will really muck up the leather.

LMAO! Yeah, I hope she doesn't have perfume on either because that will likely hang around a couple days and take away from the new leather smell. haha

Yes Eric..so much so that I kept it and toted it to my Meteor Gray C4S 997.2 when I traded in the original Racing Green one remember? I STILL get compliments on that interior daily and the finish is like the day it arrived. I now need your commentary on the rear...what should we do with that silver Carrera 4S badge? Either debadge it or maybe paint/replace? Suggestions guys? LOL
