When I got my car, I set the seat to my liking, that was the last time I touched the seat. I could not care less if my seats are manual or power.

Help! I just purchased an '09 Carrera 4s with the non reclining seats. I put in some '05 *** seats. Now I'm getting error codes and airbag codes. Unable to power up driver seat. Any solutions? Thanks.

Love mine...

I find that to be an enormous advantage with my bad back, but here's another important point. In Winter, with the sun low, it helps a lot to be able to lift the seat into a position where the visors block the sun. Without the power lift/tilt, I have to sit with my body contorted to see properly. With the feature, I can put my seat into some odd never-happen-again configuration and then it returns to normal with the push of a button.

So I spent the money on 18-way seats purely as a safety feature.

Okay, they might have the incidental effect of being sinfully comfortable.

My 997 had the power seats and my 981 doesn't. I'm just as comfortable in the 981 as the 997. There is no right or wrong answer here, its a personal thing. You just need to check out bouth and buy what is right for your back.
