I see 991's in my area, mostly in northern NJ but then again 911's are rare in its entirety in comparison to the sea of other cars.

The site, http://www.goodcarbadcar.net, if accurate shows the sales trends in the U.S. for Porsche vehicles. All of the trendlines, except for the Panamera which I did not post due to only 3 years of history, indicate a reduction in volume.

I didn't realize how poorly the Cayman has sold in the U.S.

The 911 clearly got hurt during the recession that slammed our economy in '08. Cayman and Boxster sales are hurt by new models with the Boxster recently being delivered to the dealers and the Cayman not yet hitting prime time.

Corvette sales were also hurt, as were (I'm guessing) most other sports car sales.

Several years from now, the shortage of quality used Porsches will prop up resale values if our economy returns to growth, IMO.

Here is some info on the 993 broken down by model.

If you do the math based on the first post and my data that would indicate 6,799 Boxsters come into the US in 1997. Unless I'm missing something in 1997 wouldn't the 911 and the Boxster be the only models Porsche offered?

Amazing the 2009/2010 911 numbers dropped to the similar volumes of 1996/1997. Unfortuntently I don't think a 2009 will have held it's value in 15 years (2024) like a 1997 has today. My two cars both with 33K miles are worth about the same money right now.

People say the 991 isn't selling well but in every issue of Panorama it's stated that sales are up every month versus the same time last year..?
