Default 2007 c2s MPG

Hey Guys,
First off I did not buy this car cause it was great on gas. With that,I just started to keep track of what I am getting. It seems that I get about 240-250 per tank.
This is a rough estimate.Due to where I live,I tend to do a lot of spirited driving.
Is 14mpg about right?
If I was on a highway trip, what could I get out of a tank..Also,the tank capacity is 16.9?
I have noticed that I am getting gas more in this car than in my 2010 Cayman and my 2011 Boxster S..
I have also noticed that I am having A LOT more fun as well!!!!!!!!
thanks,Joey

I haven't noticed the capacity (I've only been driving my new-to-me '07 997 C2S for a week) but I HAVE noted the large MPG difference. I came from a base Cayman (2.7) and that extra 1.1 liters makes for a huge difference in HP and mileage... not that I'm complaining

I have a 2007 C2S as well (a coupe). I get about 21 mpg city and usually get 26 mpg on a highway trip. A fuel stop about every 350 miles on a trip leaves a comfortable margin for me. Tank is 16.9 gal with the reserve light coming on with 2.5 gal remaining. Your mileage seems a bit low even with "spirited" driving.

I also have an 07 S. Yes the tank is 16.9 gallons. Your 14 mpg seems very low unless you are driving very hard all the time. I drive fairly spirited and average about 20 mpg. If I cruise 70-75 on the freeway I get a couple of mpg's better than that. If I use non-ethanol fuel it is even a little better.

I was mindful of MPG during my initial ownership period. I recall ~24 MPG on the open road last year but I haven't been paying attention lately. City was 16-19 MPH depending on my RPM ranges. 14 MPH does sound low. I wonder if it's due more to do stop-n-go traffic plus some spirited sprints between stop lights. It only takes one or two WOT sprints to dramatically drop good MPG behavior for the rest of the tank.

I get an average of 15 MPG (06 Carrera). Manual transmission gets a lower MPG since one tends to rev it up more. Yes the tank capacity needs to be larger, I get 200 miles before the message comes on with 50 more to go, according to the computer, I wish I could go 300 miles before fill ups.

well on this tank I am getting around 260 miles..I have been driving it pretty hard.I love the sound of the car at 7k in 2nd gear and have doing that maybe too much!!!!..
I think its somewhere around 15-16 driving hard..I live in the country, with hardly any other cars around so yes I have been driving it rather hard..I dont mind the extra fuel stops, cause it sure is fun...I got the car about a month ago and have already put on 3k miles..All of it just driving around..its a real treat driving around in a 911..
I was talking to my wife today while we were out..I have been so lucky to have driven and owned 7 porsches..3 boxsters,1 cayman,3 911s..
i have loved them all BUT I have really loved the 911s most of all..i had an 87,95,07..they were all really fun and special.

I would say that 14 MPG is an indicator that you're enjoying that 911 properly. Enjoy the Ride!

14mpg sounds about right to me. If I've really had fun I can get 12.

20+ sounds like grandma driving... that or freeways, open the thing up once in a while, it's good for you

Yes USMC_DS1 I AM!!!!!!!!!!!
well I just did some research..I drove to the store keeping the rpms just below 3k..I had an average of about 22.5mpg
Drove quite a bit harder and got 18mpg..and yes I did reset it..
SO its fair to say if you drive the sh_t out of it you will get 14-15mpg..
Getting 22.5 was no fun at all..
I like driving this car hard..its fun..my wife drives a Cayenne Diesel so we have a very good average between the two..thanks,Joey

Mine is a 2006 C2S 6 speed and I average 18.5 mpg per the trip computer. This is in combo city and highway driving.

I am driving my 2008 C2S mostly on country roads at about 45 mph in 4th gear and I average 19-21 mpg. On the highway ( moderately speeds) mpg approaches 30 mpg.

'09 C2S with 30,000 miles and PDK I get 20-22 in town and 27-30 on the highway 70-75 MPH sometimes legally up to 80 as we have great speed limits in Texas . Of note a new by pass around Austin has a posted speed limit of 85 MPH. Everything is bigger and better in Texas

Very spirited driving as in autocross or trips around the track drops it to around 14 MPG

That said it was not bought for MPG but for enjoyment, good gas mileage is just a side plus

We take that bypass every other week between Austin and College Station. great drive as the road is varied with some long curves. Quick way to access some good BBQ outside of Austin in Taylor and Lockhart. But they need to extend it all the way to Dallas. Doubt my MPG would improve, however, as I still like to keep it in 4th/5th...
