Default rear spoiler button problem

hi,
i will get durametric cord to check itt out but if anybody had similar issue - rear spoiler definitely works at speed - goes up and down as it should, there are no CELs on dash but button that used to raise it on demand stopped working - i press it and nothing happens, no light, no reaction.

has anyone had this? itis probably button itself or connection there, but, i decided to ask, just in case. funny, it happened just 6 days after car went off CPO status.

Also, does yours go up smoothly with no noise at all or does the motor make a creaking ( I hesitate to say grinding) noise? I have a feeling I'll be seeing the dealer to get it resolved (under CPO).

it made a bit of a sound but nothing like grinding, see a dealer if car is on CPO.

Thanks utkinpol. It sounds like the motor is failing, although it is working. I hate going to the dealer unless absolutely necessary.

Mine exhibited a creaky/grinding noise when raised/lowered. Dealer changed the entire mechanism under warranty. They even ordered/installed replacement Mobil1/oil spec stickers.

Mine also creaks on the way out and back down. When I bought it, the dealer said, "They all do that." True? Do I need to get it warrantee replaced?

I'm beginning to start a small list of niggles...
- rattly sunroof
- whistling passenger side mirror (or similar)
- "ticking" sort of rattle from the passenger side rear area

...and now a creaky spoiler.

well, i spent some time with durametric today fixing steering angle and also looked at spoiler button issue. again, my car is 997 c2, it has no pasm, no sport mode. it runs on softronic ecu flash with permanently active sport mode and spoiler button definitely always worked fine, ecu was not altered for quite a long time now.

so, what happens now is very odd - in 'rear' ecu activations i can raise and lower spoiler by command, so, rear ecu works. in 'instrumental cluster' section (i think, or wherever that button must be) on 'active values'screen when i click at spoiler button what shows on a screen is the value for 'sport button' item changes to 'active' and there is also a position for spoiler activation button but it does not change at all. i am quite puzzled with this. i disconnected battery twice to do full ECU reset but nothing changed.
very odd stuff.

They all generally creak and make a racket. You can attempt to shoot some silicon into the hinge tubes and they may help for awhile. Ultimately, you have to be careful with lubricants as they also tend to collect dust and grit--and then you may create a worse situation for yourself!

There is a great Spoiler drive maintenance DIY here....https://rennlist.com/forums/997-foru...rebuild-4.html

Mine used to groan when lifting/lowering but this DIY fixed it so there's really no need to put up with this.
