vg247, if you're game post your pics when you get the car back from the dealer. I never tire off looking at these cars.

BTW, sorry to hear about your p-dealer issues. I couldn't stand/trust my local dealer initially either... until I found the right SR who was a former p-car mech there. Now the p-dealer and I now speak the same language... no more attempts at bogus service charges. I consider one of the SR's there a friend now but it took me a good year to figure out who was friend and who was foe at the p-dealer. GL.

Now I'm also wondering how many service hours its going to cost to install a leather dash. Anyone got an idea? I really wouldn't want to do this myself as I'm awesome at breaking little plastic clips and losing screws. Can any indy pcar repair shop do this or do I have to go to the stealership?

Sounds like a plan USMC' - I'll get some up as soon as the dealer decides to release my car back to me for good behavior (at this time sounds like next Weds or so).

Appreciate your thoughts on my service experience, going to drive 30mins away to another dealer next time I need any work (this one was in my back yard being 10mins away)

Would a good interior and trim specialist be able to help with this and save you the P-car labor cost overhead? I'm thinking since these folks repair, refinish leather and upholstr, they will definitely know how to put these on??

I think your best bet is to go to a renowned upholstery shop and have them do the work from a to z.
Replicating factory work will proof to be impossible anyway as the base dash is different. Dashboards that are covered in leather are totally different than the standard plastic one. They have a small channel to guide the leather seam and allow it to lay flat on the dash.

Watch this and see for yourself at 2:42min

So I have a better idea.....can you give me a ballpark cost for this....been thinking abpout this and the center console. Did you do that too? Who did the work??

Thanks in advance!

Presumably these guys would do a decent job: http://www.classic9leathershop.com/

Thinking about getting some bits as well. Maybe over winter to drive a way the no-ragtop depression.

Tom, the visors new are $1200 from Suncoast. I just posted a DIY last night. It's super easy to do yourself. I want to say that the center console is 2900+. That's fairly easy to DIY as well but I have yet to do that one in leather. Did remove it, however, for the SSK DIY.

Some of the stuff doesn't look very nice. The stitching isn't straight and the leather doesn't look stretched and molded properly. If you watch the Porches Mfg. video you can see how the dashed is relieved in the areas were seems sit which provides for a smooth and finished look. I don't think these guys can duplicate the factory look but would be nice for restoration.
