Weekender? Keeping a long time? Go and find a NICE 993 or 968 cab. There's a rough and thumble car with lots of drama and fund for the weekend.

It would be awesome to know that you pull into a PCar show and not one person will have a car like yours.
You know LG - you bring up an excellent point. At Porsche events it would be great to have something unusual, something that stands out and attracts a bit of attention. The Porsche culture a good part of the enjoyment of owning one - much like this Forum.

That's the key question that you have to answer. Do you like the color? If you are concerned about resale value because of the color, you may want to talk to someone who buys cars professionally and get their view. My experience in buying and selling cars for almost 50 years is that it's a lot easier to sell a car that is gray or black than a unique color. Although many may like the color, relatively few are willing to purchase a car in a unique color.

I would expect that the first owner paid a premium for that color, but it probably hurt his car's value at trade in time. Nevertheless, if the original owner loved the color, I expect that he was happy with his investment.

Euroclassics is notorious for pricing their inventory high but they are very willing to negotiate to move the cars. Not sure who you are talking to there but I would recommend Jon or Chris Rennie. Both are great guys and astute with Porsche knowledge.

I've seen the car in person and it is very very unique.

OK - so I have to disagree with the consensus here - I actually hate the color - it would be a deal killer for me.

BUT - I do agree that it's cool to have something different - it's just that my different would be different from yours ..... so if you like it, go for it. Seems like there are other people out there who like it as well.

Hey - I just noticed the location! I live a few miles from the dealership (it's where I bought mine). Funny, I was at the dealership yesterday (Sunday) with a friend and noted how much I didn't like that car - too funny.

The dealer must have plenty of space (and money), or have a bunch of cash tied up in this car. I would think they would be highly motivated to sell the car to you after 12 mos on the lot, and they would have thought about going to auction by this point. I'd bargain hard.

I like the unique PTS cars, but what if you really needed to sell it? If the dealer is struggling to move it...

All good points, guys. And, no doubt, some P-car lovers will hate the color, but others will love it. It is unique. I decided to go for it, if I could get a decent price. So, I tried to start negotiations today, but was too busy at work to make much progress. Dealer agreed to provide DME report and to inspect RMS seal. I will keep you updated.

JonasJ, the sales manager says he drives it every week at least enough to warm up the engine. So, it doesn't sit around all the time.

KDurg, I have been working with Chris Rennie and a young sales guy named Eric. The price does seem a bit high, but for a year it was priced at $73.9k. The car has nearly 2.5 years of warranty remaining with December 2008 inception date and CPO.
