Intermittent clutch switch related issue with 997.2 Carrera S
I have a very mysterious issue with my 2010 Carrera S .... almost every time on trying to start the car from cold nothing happens when turning the key and after about 1/2 second the display says 'depress clutch pedal' (which was of course depressed before turning the key). A bit off of and on, clutch pedal in and out, and it starts ... but its an annoying 5 - 10 seconds of screwing around just to get my 2 yr old car to start!
It rarely does this when warm, and does it less often when driven and left for an hour or two than it does when fully cold.
I did have the clutch switch fail completely at around 10,000 miles (currently at 18,000) but then the warning message just came on while driving and lucky I was close to the dealer so just drove straight there.
I reported this to Porsche when getting an oil change at 15,000 but they could not reproduce. As it has got progressively worse in last 3,000 miles I am taking it in again next week and leaving it overnight for them with some instructions.
Any ideas what this could be? I wonder if its a software fault or an issue with the key switch as it is so intermittent. I could not see any other forum entries with a similar issue though.

I'm betting it is the clutch switch again. The 987 has the same clutch switch issue (probably the same part). I believe the part has been recently updated due to ongoing problems so hopefully it won't happen again.

Porsche recently issued a Workshop Campain WC09, to replace the clutch switch.

Happened on my 10 GT3 and recently my 12 GTS. Dealer techs are well aware of it. They are supposedly working on a new design. Never stranded me just became an annoyance. Replace it quickly before a total failure.

Happened to me too. Same issue, but it did become worse as time went on. I was never stranded, but took it in to have it fixed. They replaced the Clutch Interlock switch at 17140 miles last October. Have not had a problem since.
