2200Km road trip - which car to take?
Going on a 10-day road trip, covering 2200 Km or 1400 miles. 1/3 of it is gonna be nice driving in the twisties, while 2/3 is gonna be more boring drive, and expect to hit bad traffic on the way back on last day (long weekend - gotto be back for work).
So, which car to take?
1. 997
2. Expedition (GF family's)
3. Audi A4 Cab (GF)
Obviously 997 would be most fun, and most enjoyment in the twisty areas, and overall. However, the downsides are that GF cannot help in the driving (so I gotto do all of 2200Km), and it will be louder, less comfortable across the bumpy roads, with least storage, and I'd add some crap miles to the car.
Expedition would have most room, and probably most comfortable (depends on terrain), while least handling offered and worst MPG... A4 seems to be a good compromise in-between.
So, what other folks think?

Drove Cape Cod to Tampa twice and found the P-car both fun and comfortable. Was alone and went by mostly four lane and interstates. Would do it again alone. Having a pax could change equation...depending on the "baggage"!

997 of course. Depends on the route I guess. If you're racing to a destination for a day, take the 997. If you're driving for 3 days, I'd take the cab. best compromise, you aren't exhausted every night from driving the whole way, lots of luggage space and comfort and you get to put the top down (I'm assuming in the mountains).

+1. Why are you even asking this question. If you actually want to enjoy the miles, then do the 997. If you just want to get from point a to point b, then drive the Expedition or better yet fly so you dont have to drive. i assume you're doing a road trip to enjoy the 1400 miles. Cant imagine you would "enjoy" them in an expedition. Maybe the audi - but less so than a Porsche.
How many opportunities will you get to enjoy your car like that? Given my spot (married with kids - i dont get that chance). So i would kill to take a 1400 road trip in my Porsche and you are worried about putting on the miles Dont worry.

What route are you taking? There's always smaller, twister, more interesting hwys than freeways chocked w traffic. Take the 991. More fun. More adventure. Less dozing off from sheer boredom. Teach the GF to drive a MT?

You really need people from the interwebs who have never met you or your GF to tell you what car you should drive on a trip no one knows the details of?
Is this serious?

Thanks guys... 997 it is!
Just to clarify, it's gonna be broken down into few hundred Km/day, with stop-overs along the way for 1-2 nights each... so not driving straight all the way. So, on second thought, just for that 1/3 of the road that's fun, it's gonna be worth it!
I just hate driving in traffic and along HWY routes that have no fun to offer, and wanted to share that part of driving... GF can drive MT, but I don't want her to I might give her some parts of the road this time.

I wasn't necessarily planning a road trip for the roadtrip sake, but going to a lake for a few days, and decided to stop half way through and explore a bit before getting there.
