Dealer installed new PSE 997.1
Honestly, after very little deliberation I had my dealer install a new PSE to my 08 C4S. I did the full install, with wiring and dash switch. My car does not have Sport Chrono, so the switch simply silences the exhaust. I am very happy with my decision. It is arguably the best sounding factory exhaust system to come out of Stuttgart on any Porsche. The sound is superior to both my air cooled Carrera and 930, both with after market units.
I went with the full install, because I am a physician, and I need to have it quietish when entering the enclosed physician/patient parking garage so as not to over excite my elderly patients. I really like this stealth feature, it is well worth the added cost.
The sound definitely provokes spontaneous panty dropping, my girlfriend is happy to comply.
I noticed that my cans and the tips have Eisenmann stamped on it. Did Porsche outsource to this company? I was not aware of this.

Congrats! with both the panty and resulting exhaustion.
Porsche OEM's many parts and as do the after market exhaust vendors. Eisenmann is a well known and respected exhaust manufacturer. The triangle symbol with the funky "P" in the center designates it as a Porsche part even though it was OEM'd from Eisenmann. BTW, my FVD BromBacher exhaust system is OEM'd from from M&M Power of Germany... they also build for numerous other aftermarket exhaust brands such as SpeedART, Porsche, etc. Very normal.

So jealous...PSE is the only factory option I wanted but didn't find on my car. I was able to secure all the other options I wanted. Guess I could always take the dealer plunge too, or consider the Gundo. Mind sharing what the dealer parts/labor range was for the install?

Congrats! Great choice.
I had the PSE on my 996 X51 - dealer installed as well, but I decided to try the Fister Sport Mufflers for my 997 C2S. They are based on the original PSE design. I did the install myself this past week during my 'stay-cation' and they sound superb - very similar to the PSE on the 996. I highly recommend the Fisters as an alternative. They don't have the on/off switch, which I can appreciate you needing, but I never used it on my 996 so I figured it wasn't a decision point for me.
Enjoy the aural intoxication!

I personally installed PSE on my 07 Targa4S a few years ago, with an on/off switch in the console. I also added X51 headers and then 200 cell cats. The whole setup was PERFECT. Not sure what difference the X51 headers made, as I didn't do a before and after, but the cats definitely made it much better in loud mode.

You did the right thing. The PSE option is outstanding--particularly for cabriolets. I also like being able to silence it as needed at times. (For example, if I take a call while driving I can quiet things down with the press of a button). The only change I made to mine was to tone down the flashy tips with them being ceramic coated black. No more keeping up with cleaning off the soot!

997.1 PSE, THE BEST exhaust note out the last 3 generations of 911s BY A MARGIN!
Quick Q, how much did the whole thing cost? The damn thing has gone up quite a bit over the last yr or so.
