Default Transport companies

Just got a quote from Reliable on shipping a 997 and it's a bit high. What are the transport companies others have used that weren't outrageous in price? Thanks for any suggestions.

I have a contact that can help you. He set up transport for my 997. If you send a pm, I will send info back. At office now, info is at home.

Remember the adage . . . . . 'You get what you pay for'.

We've used Intercity in the past and they are top notch. Sure they may cost a few bucks than "Transport Cars R Us' but 'You get . . . . . . . . . for'

Good luck on your move . . .

JS Transport Jennifer Supczak 508-868-1004

They were great, found me a truck a few weeks back to transport from Ft Worth TX to Washington DC for $700. Does that price sound pretty good? I didn't do any shopping I went with a Porsche dealer recommendation

Ft Worth to DC is even farther than I would need shipping and the price does seem quite good. Open transporter for that price, I assume. Reliable's quote, for enclosed, is $1372.

Thanks Whos.

I do agree that you get what you pay for. Just looking for other quality companies that might be a bit lower in price. Thanks everyone.

$1372 is not bad for that distance. Coast to coast is $2k. Reliable and Intercity are top notch. You get what you pay for.

I used Plycar per the p-dealer's recommendation. Newport Beach, CA to Austin, TX was $1,300 for an enclosed carrier.

My transport was open, so I had to wash the car when it got here. They are all insured so you should get a copy of the policy. Enclosed is supposed to be a $400 premium or so. Total price depends on start and end points. Some routes are cheaper due to supply/demand.

Received my 2008 gt2 yesterday (pics soon) from Dallas. I live in so cal, and used earth auto movers. Cost was 1250 covered. They were referred by park place Porsche. They suck! Car was delivered with oil all over windshield, driver told me I was lucky that wasen't brake fluid. Also lucky it was not on the paint. My lucky day gets better. Metal flakes were all over car from rat rod above it. I hope the second set of keys arrive soon that driver misplaced. I think earth auto sub contracted the job I will find out. I am not done with them yet, at least untill I get my keys. Oh did I say they suck!
