Micheline Pilot Sports PS2
A shocker just priced tires at Costco in Montreal Canada for my soon to be delivered 997....
235/352r19 $429.99
305/30ZR19 PS2 $569.99
For four tires $2302 installed !
Never in my life did i ever think tires could be so expensive...
How do you guys do track every week-end and not go bankrupt ?
There has to be another tire that is good and not so freaking expensive ...
What you say ?

I went from the OEM PS2 to the Bridgestone RE-11 which is a way better tire, but it is a summer only tire with great wet weather performance. If you want to stay with Michellins, then try the Super Sport.

Either swtich to another tire, OR, make a trip south, order your tires from tirerack and install it and drive back! I've done that twice.
I just checked and PS2 price was close to Costco on Tirerack (if you include shipping and install cost), the NEW Bridgestone S-04 has some fantastic reviews, and is the replacement for RE050, check price on that tire, looks like a great value!

It sure does get expensive...I drive mine everyday and the rubber doesn't last long. I have separate wheels and tires for winter and went with 18s and a little narrower rear for that...the price of 19" snow tires will make your heart skip a beat!

The PS2 has been around for a long time and the Super Sport is the new design. Not sure why the prices are still high for the PS2s but it seems they are still selling a ton of them on a regular basis. I will try the MPSS when my RE11s need replacement. I'm on my second pair on the rears. RE-11s are approx $388 ea in a 305/30/19 size at the Tire Rack, but this tire is an XL - not N rated like the PS2.

Get the new Michelin Super Sports....or Bridgestore RE050... I feel they are better than the old PS2

The rears of my Michelin Pilot Sport Cups (N1) have about another 3K left. The fronts are in excellent condition. This is with 11K miles on them so I am happy.
But the pricing of the Cups, rears only will be $1200. For $1500 I can get a full set of 4 Michelin Super Sports. Then I go down the path of alternatives to Michelins and save about $$500. Read the reviews on TireRack and you can see why Michelins deserve a $500 premium. I do not like wasting my money but hard to not buy the Super Sports.

Can the 305/30/19 in the rear be fitted on the same rim, even though the originals were the 295s? Seems like the speedo difference is less than 1% (60mph = 59.4mph). Any experiences?

Consider the pilot super sports as the ps4. It is a superior tire to the ps2. They are likely cheaper now due to intro pricing but who knows Michelin may price adjust due to growing competition (inevitable) in the max perf segment.

Yes, go with SUPER SPORTS, PS2's are total garbage in comparison. I have them on my one c2s now and even pretty damn good on track too. Less expensive, more grip, longer life. A no brainer!
