I can DIY for about $65 oil and filter, then $120 for new tools... not directly related but gosh I do need them just in case, while I am in there..... Neosporin because I always cut myself, a six-pack of Pilsner Urquell, a fight with my wife because I usually block her in......
So I guess DIY is about the same price as a dealer....
Peace

If any 997 owners want an oil change in the NYC area, buy your supplies and I'll do it for you for $50. I'll even use my dustbuster to vacuum your interior! Given these prices, you'd be insane to use the dealer.

I just had my oil changed here in Silver Spring Maryland, cost just over 200 bucks. I could do it myself, but I like how they look over the car and let me know what needs fixing. If It's a DIY project, I take care of it. If not I have them take care of it. They have been great in allowing me to do what I can to help keep ownership cost down.

I have durametric for service reminder. No need for loaner since it only takes 40 min. if you wanna take your boxster to the dealer because you enjoy wasting money, that's your business. I'd rather do it myself and then have a great steak and bottle of wine, but I guess there is a place for everybody

AVOID RENNWERKE PORSCHE IN ELMSFORD LIKE THEY HAVE AIDS!
Unless you want them to steal parts off your cars, or use your plates on another unregistered car, get you a parking ticket, and not even pay it or tell you about it.
See Mike at MTech motors in New Rochelle

That is a lot to digest in one sitting.
Although I have never used them, Rennwerke has a long standing good reputation. Is this your personal experience?

Cheech might as well just have bent me over and screwed me up the proverbial a**
He is a liar and a thief, he will curse at you (I am not kidding, he will straight up tell up to go and f**k yourself when your car is two months late for delivery and your car has a huge scratch on your paint job) and act like he is God, and I can point you to at least 15 people that can attest to that.
I have no reason to lie about this. I have a two inch thick file of crimes he committed against me. If you want to meet up, I can show you...
I can post up the tickets that he got on my car's plates ( while my car had the engine apart and in pieces)
He (or someone in his shop [which makes no difference because as the owner , he is the one responsible]) stole my car cover, got me tickets, stole parts off of my car to put on his own (i.e. my pagid brake pads, and my stainless steel brake lines, etc)... the list goes on and I would be more than happy to provide proof of this.
When I asked for my old parts back that I replaced with high performance ones, he tried to give me some broken crap from a 901 series car from the 60's...
Don't even get me started.
just avoid this piece of trash.
any reputation he has that is good is because he has worked on Jerry Seinfeld's cars, and perhaps a few basketball players... so unless you are one of "those celebs", he will treat you like crap.
